AWARD:

For the second year in a row, Schumacher asked designers across the country to “Show of your Schumacher” in a contest to showcase the ways they have incorporated Schumacher fabrics, wallcoverings and other products into their designs.

Amazing designs were submitted to the competition, and one winner received the top honor while three other designers were given honorable mentions.

Here’s a look at this year’s honorees and their projects:

Winner:

Hether Dunn of Hether Dunn Design in Portland, OR

Hether Dunn’s interiors are largely informed by her background as a graphic designer and art director. She works with residential clients to determine their home’s unique “brand” of comfort and personality. Through a lively mix of graphic patterns and a sophisticated use of materials, Dunn creates rooms that are both stylish and functional.

In this Portland pantry, Dunn used Fez in Noir from Schumacher’s Martyn Lawrence Bullard wallcovering collection to bring unexpected vibrancy to a small space. This project began in 2012, when the designer’s clients purchased an old Victorian home in desperate need of remodeling and a fresh point of view. Paired with glossy black cabinetry, marble countertops and a contemporary light fixture, this bold and timeless chevron design transforms tight quarters into a dynamic space.
